800 lb gorilla at Lollapalooza 2011, camera originals video production services, live concerts and live streaming

As summer wraps up we can’t forget one of the highlights, our seventh annual Lollapalooza.

This year the 800 lb gorilla saw 40 IBEW crew members return to all four stages covering nearly 140 acts for both the house screens as well as the highly successful YouTube webcast produced by Springboard Productions.  Crews ran miles of fiber optic cable to link all of Grant Park to one central control compound where Trio Video’s three Production trucks then uplinked performances directly to YouTube.  Viewers went bananas over the ability to choose from multiple streams to see the acts they wanted including this year’s headliners Muse, Cold Play and Foo Fighters for free.

But it was Mother Nature who stole the show Sunday night with a rock n roll moment that Chicago went ape over as heavy rain fell on the 60,000 plus audience as The Foo Fighters played on.  Braving the elements, it was our crew who once again rose to the occasion that had us swinging from the trees with pride to be part of the event of the year.
